Jibek specializes in modern design that incorporates traditional concept and form. Her designs are elegant and functional maximizing useable space. Regardless of a project’s scope or budget, she aims for a final product that communicates the pride and gratitude of ownership.

Before moving to the United States, Jibek specialized in international relations and languages, working for the Administration of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. Through her career in politics, she was exposed to many cultures and customs from around the world. With a lifelong passion for cultivating beauty and balance, she saved mementos from her interactions with other cultures in a scrapbook. She dreamed that the contents of that scrapbook could someday serve as inspiration for her own designs. She realized that dream when she created Silk West Studio LLC.

In addition to English and her native Kyrgyz, Jibek speaks Russian and Japanese. She holds a degree in International Relations and several professional certifications. She attended Heritage School of Interior Design in Portland, Oregon, where she sharpened her skills and made valuable industry connections in the Portland area.
